My colleague Alex Ruane demoed for us today the interactive IPCC6 #ClimateChange graphic that shows how #climate has evolved over our parents , our, and how it will evolve over our children’s lifetimes.
You can tailor it to your own family with names, birth years, and people outlines.
It makes a powerful reminder of how different the world of our grandparents was than the world of our children will be.

Everyone's #aurora pictures are lovely. Lots of rich purples which strikes me as odd coz I usually think of it as green. Was green when I saw it off in Iceland.
I'm told this is because in more severe space weather, when the solar wind is strong, it has the energy to knock electrons off of lower-altitude Nitrogen as well as the more common green high-altitude Oxygen.
I have no pictures. In London the orange street-lamp aurora is there every night and drowns anything else out.

The problem is that the far right parties such as the PVV (the largest in the Dutch parliament) and the farmers party BBB – currently trying to form a government – lack the intellectual calibre among their membership and electoral supporters to see the larger picture and to be able to even come close to taking the right decisions.
